Galen: Pilot, Coach, Explorer

Galen is a true renaissance woman with a lifelong appetite for adventure. A highly accomplished competition pilot and seasoned instructor, she brings deep passion and playful curiosity to everything she does—especially flying.

For the past eight years, Galen has dedicated herself to paragliding, quickly rising to the top of the sport. In 2023, she made history as the first woman to win the overall U.S. National Championship. She’s also a former Women’s Pan-American Champion (2022), a sophomore member of the U.S. National Team, and holds the continental record for the Longest FAI Triangle.

Her racing career has taken her around the globe on the Paragliding World Cup circuit, where she continues to compete at the highest level.

As an instructor and guide, Galen has worked with pilots of all levels at some of the country’s most respected schools. For the past six years, she’s also guided cross-country clients, helping them build skills, confidence, and meet their personal flying goals. Empowering others is at the core of her coaching philosophy.

Galen is also deeply involved in SIV training, having spent the last seven years as a winch wench for many of the nation’s top programs—giving her a unique perspective on skill development and pilot psychology in high-stress environments.

With a background in theatrical performance and comedic improvisation, Galen brings warmth and levity to even the most technical moments. She believes that a good attitude, humility, and a sense of humor are essential—not just for flying, but for life.
